Sherrie Benner

With over 20 years experience in the real estate industry, Sherrie has represented clients all over Maine in hundreds of real estate transactions. After graduating from the University of Southern Maine, with degrees in both History and Art, Sherrie began her career in real estate in 1985 as a corporate/real estate paralegal working  with a number of prominent Portland Law Firms. This work experience helped prepare her to become a professional real estate agent. As a paralegal she honed her research skills by analyzing public records, code and zoning ordinances with the main focus on property title abstracting. All skills that continue to be an educational foundation that helps guide her clients through real estate transactions.

A strong base of loyal and repeat clients is the reason Sherrie is so successful in this incredibly competitive sales environment. Whether Sherrie is listing a landmark estate or working with first time homebuyers, she is known for her quality service, creative thinking, passion for interior design, market knowledge and professionalism. She has built a career on repeat and referral business and earned the respect of satisfied past clients by always putting her client's needs first.

Longtime resident of Gorham, Sherrie is passionate about giving back to her community and is well connected and actively involved in many charities and social organizations including: Volunteer with the Independent Transportation Network (ITN) for Senior Citizens, 2 terms Gorham Town Council, Gorham Historical Preservation Committee, Gorham Historical Society, Patron of Lakes Region Senior Center, Girl Scout Leader and proud supporter of local Girl Scouts. A  percentage of real estate commissions have been donated to ITN.  She has served on various boards including USM Alumni, Chairman of Independent Transportation Network, ecomaine, and currently the Greater Portland Board of Realtors®. Outside of real estate, Sherrie is a freelance writer for several local newspapers.
